Warm evening light over downtown Hood River, Oregon

Where to stay

You won’t need a room for the session itself. That happens here, in one of ours.

The night or two around

Hood River is small enough that where you stay changes how the whole trip feels.

We encourage arriving the day before your session and staying in town the day after, for rest and integration in nature before you go — no one regrets lingering in Hood River. A few places we’d send someone without hesitating, most of them with the river out the window.

Columbia Gorge Hotel

The grande dame above the river — a historic hotel with its own restaurant and a small spa. The upscale choice, and the one with the view you picture when you picture the Gorge.

Columbia Cliff Villas

Next door and quieter. Condo-style rooms right at the cliff’s edge, with room to spread out — good if you’re staying a few nights or bringing people.

Best Western Plus Hood River Inn

On the water by Waterfront Park, with a pool, a sauna, and a river-view restaurant. The easy, practical choice for a family.

Hood River Hotel

If you’d rather be downtown than on the water — a 1913 boutique hotel on Oak Street, walk to dinner and back.

Westcliff Lodge

For something different — a glamping option on the bluff, with the Gorge spread out below.
