The scenic way, if you have the extra half hour
Coming from Portland, take Exit 21 and follow the old Historic Columbia River Highway instead of staying on the freeway. It runs parallel to I-84 for about twenty miles and passes Multnomah Falls and half a dozen smaller falls most people drive straight past. It adds ten or twenty minutes — longer if you stop to stand under one, which you should. Tickets are sometimes required to stop at Multnomah Falls in summer, so check ahead.
Getting around once you’re here
There’s no Uber or Lyft in Hood River, and no rental counters in town — pick a car up at the airport if you want one. For rides, two local companies serve the area: Hood River Pedicab & Taxi (541-714-3130) and Gorge PDX (541-800-2028).
One thing worth planning around
You won’t be driving yourself home the day of a session. Most clients bring someone to drive, stay the night in town, or arrange a ride — and your facilitator will talk it through with you well before the day itself, as part of preparation.
