Why a Pre-Journey Evaluation Can Be Important
Most people can participate in a psilocybin journey without significant health risks, but for some, a medical or medication review is essential. Pre-journey evaluations help ensure client safety by identifying potential health concerns, clarifying medication interactions, and supporting facilitators in making safe, informed decisions about dosage.
These evaluations are especially important when clients:

Are taking prescription medications, particularly psychiatric, cardiovascular, or seizure-related drugs

Have a complex or unstable medical condition

Have a history of serious mental illness

Are unsure about how psilocybin might interact with their health or medications
By consulting with a qualified medical or pharmacy professional, clients can receive a personalized risk assessment, safety plan, and—when appropriate—guidance on tapering or adjusting medications before their session. Facilitators at Vital Reset do not provide medical advice, prescribe medication, or make changes to a client’s prescriptions. These decisions should be made with a licensed healthcare provider.
