Local Hood Riverite Heidi Venture was invited to Cambridge, Massachusetts in early August to present at an unprecedented “bootcamp” at Harvard Law School’s Petrie-Flom Center to help inform, educate, and build skills in psychedelic law. “It was an amazing group of people, all working to make psychedelic therapy as safe and accessible as possible,” said Venture.

She served on a panel on “States’ Experimentation and Regulation” which explored how the regulated environment in Oregon is working, along with a lack of acknowledgement of indigenous people’s contributions. Venture was able to offer a unique perspective as the co-owner of Vital Reset, a licensed service center in Hood River, by telling attendees how Oregon’s regulated environment is working and evolving.

She shared the stories of two clients who found great relief when they used psilocybin at Vital Reset:  One for Complex PTSD and depression, and the other for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Both clients have seen positive results and give much credit to their psilocybin experiences.

Attendees appreciated getting a close up view of the only legal, safe, accessible and regulated psilocybin system in the world. “This event was so much better thanks to Heidi’s presence and willingness to share the good and the bad from the front lines,” said law professor Mason Marks.

Speakers included representatives from the FDA, DEA, research universities, Native American tribes, and investors in psychedelic drugs. Attendees included several Veterans Affairs staff advocating for veterans to access psilocybin services.

Those interested in learning more can attend Vital Reset’s Anniversary Open House on August 20, from 1-7pm at 1020 Wasco St. Hood River.

Back in the 60s, Vital Reset co-owner John Nelson took a night class in psychedelics at Harvard with Professor Richard Schultes! He also went to Harvard with Heidi this August.
